Comprehensive Nurture
What makes Shoma stand out from other schools is the unique teaching system: The Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum allows for students to learn at their own pace which ensures mastery of the subject material. Students set their own goals daily, detailing how much work they can complete in each of their subjects. They do this with the support of their Learning Center (class) Supervisors who encourage and aid learners to perform according to their individual potential.
All learning at Shoma takes place from a Christian point of view. Teachings based on character, morals and values underpin all aspects of a student's learning. This ensures that when a learner leaves Shoma they are not merely prepared academically but also to stand out as well-rounded adults ready to take on the world at large.
Shoma is 4 years old and continues to grow beyond measure. Shoma's management and staff constantly strive to provide leadership and expertise allowing their learners to not just develop to their individual potential but to exceed it!
With the aim of increasing access to Christian based education using the ACE Program, Shoma has made all efforts to keep tuition fees modest. Parents are consulted and informed from time to time whenever additional costs arise. Flexible payment plans are acceptable, making the experience much less stressful. Shoma also welcomes donations from parents and well-wishers - in form of reading books, computers or such materials that benefit the learners.
The school also aims to assist parents to train up a child in the way (s)he should go (Prov 22:6), in obedience to the commandments of God. Two Parents Fellowships are held every term, to share insights and sharpen one another on the complementary roles of home and school. Children also take this opportunity to make creative and academic presentations. Parents are also assisted and allowed to keep their children and supervise their learning at home once in a while; this enriches the parents' appreciation of the system.
The International Certificate of Christian Education (ICCE) is the goal of our students. The ICCE General Certificate (attainable after Grade 9) is comparable to O' Level, while the ICCE Advanced Certificate (attainable after Grade 12) is comparable to A' Level, and is a sufficient qualification to join University.
Registration of new students is on going for both ACE and Kindergarten both online and physically at Shoma premises from Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm throughout the year. If the student was not using the ACE curriculum, make appointments with the school management to have your child assessed so as to identify academic gaps and placement.
Admissions are open to ACE students from Grade 1 to 3 (foundation level), Grade 4 to 6 (intermediate level), Grade 7 to 12 (senior level) and kindergarten from baby to top class, minimum admission age being three years. For physical admissions, visit us at Shoma school premises in Kampala, Ntinda and for online admissions, get the admission form here...Admission form.
You are kindly reminded to submit the admission form along with a copy of a National Identification card, the child's Birth Certificate, previous report and a passport size photograph. The fees structure is also available here..Fees structure
